All the Beds I've Made - Caroline Spence
Such an underrated artist. I got to see him live at Boomer Theatre in Norman, Oklahoma. Lost way too early on a motorcycle in LA. Odd how some of the best artists are take from us way too early...
I love folk music...Beautiful song.❤️
Married to a dancer. In the end there is one dance you do alone is a wonderful line after 52 years together this has become one of my favourite songs. So beautiful. Thank you so much.
Her melodies, the way she soars high, remind me a lot of Geordie singer Alex Glasgow. I can hear him singing this too. Also Elaine Paige. Dore's voice is beautiful but I often hear other singers in my head with certain songs. Paige would act this song out in her usual way and it would also be a heart stopping version.
Just beautiful I've loved his music since the Isle of View album!
Just beautiful
The love the soul in his voice. 👍❤️
One of my favorite songs ❤
You tell it to me straight, You ask me to go with you, You are moving away And I am going to miss you, It’s new to me, this type of letting go I am unprepared. I’ll drive you across the desert, Through the dusty mining towns And we’ll find the outback highway And sand the edges down, Until a storm cloud breaks And we hit the ocean And I’ll leave you there. Goodbye ally-o Goodbye my ally-o Goodbye to the bright love, you leave me all aglow, Farewell ally-o, Go boldly ally-o, My heart for now is yours to carry freely as you go. We came here out of season, We came here when it’s quieter I hold your hand in public And we feel like outsiders And we hear ghosts of warnings that you get all types here, out on this road And that night we meet Pete Beneath the darkened ridge, And I wanna keep to ourselves, but this man has a fridge Peter cools our beers, and listens to us singing And that’s all Peter knows Goodbye ally-o Goodbye my ally-o Goodbye to the bright love, you leave me all aglow, Farewell ally-o, Go boldly ally-o, My heart for now is yours to carry freely as you go. I take a lot for granted My hard times has been few And early on there were too many times I overlooked you But I see you know, so clearly I see a lot of you But when you come back to Melbourne And you leave someone behind Maybe I’m in some other place With some fella on my mind I hope we tell eachother then, I hope we speak from time to time But for now now I do not know how to leave you. Goodbye ally-o Goodbye my ally-o Goodbye to the bright love, you leave me all aglow, Farewell ally-o, Go gently ally-o, My heart for now is yours to carry freely as you go.
We need Laura now , more than ever . 💝
Strange old world. Heard LT sing this on a BBC programme this evening ..It's a truly beautiful song . Last year our family stayed in the village of Byfield near Banbury. We were attending a family christening On the outside of the village hall is a plaque commemorating the fact that Sandy Denny gave her last concert there. I wonder if she sang this?
wonderful song. For the contemplative, doleful atmosphere and the intriguing harmony It reminds me a bit of that short masterpiece of David Sylvian called September except this one comes before, and it's at least as good as that.
Kate is gone, her artistry remains. She lowers my BP & removes my anger. Please READ the comments of others who knew her♥.
The most beautiful song I’ve ever heard; what a legacy she left the world. R.I.P. Kate.
Amazing song, love this version more than the original. Can someone add the lyrics?
Lara fm second gem❤ Your lyrics my dearest darling ❤️
THIS SONG IS BIBLICAL IN IT'S OWN WAY...WHAT A SONG!!!
Sad that the Kate Wolf festival is coming to an end. I went twice and had a beautiful experience. I resonate with her so much , her gorgeous deep voice and her love of nature , woven into her music.
I discover Kate's spirit lately. I am sure she is still there with all people who like her touching art and sence of music. Thank you.
The birds fly, weaving beauty all around these mountains Once their freedom knew me, and held my dreams Upon their wings of gold The sun comes silently, and the church bell wakes the sparrow He drinks the pure white rain that softly falls As morning calls my name Calling me to come returning to the mountain of the moon On wings that sing their freedom's mirth With every passing of the winter's sun, I know that soon Peace will finally blossom on this earth It's been a long long time Oh such a long long time
Maybe best song on the album. Nice guitar work from John K. Bristow.
❤ this song makes me emotional always
If there is a god(s), this is her/him/it.
You sound like Jake Thistle!
❤
I always listen to Laura for comfort, love, sadness, protest and joy. Thanks to Nick. I love her 5:09
Beautiful!
She's the quiet power all great people have.
Todd Rundgren mixed this
Actually Chris Anderson was engineer on this album, production credits are a little messy though. T. Rundgre began the project, Chris Anderson completed it, and I believe Laura Nyro took credit for it.
@jeromeburoker1770 I doubt that she took credit for any of the techi production stuff. That wasn't her thing
I was married 30 years ago today, 1993, to the love of my life and this song was sung by a beautiful guitar playing friend. We were divorced in 2011 after 23 years together and it was time, but the sentiment of this beautiful song remains. Thank you Kate.....
I always planned on having this as my wedding song, but, I never married.
@@Katie2986 No matter. You can give yourself to love of yourself and all those others that you love anyway!
@@dancelzard Indeed! ❤️
Thank you ❣️
Bravissimo!
This version, of this song will always get to me. Thank you all.
Of the many versions of These Days, this is surely my favorite.
There are not the right & expressive words that I can think of to show my admiration for this man.A global treasure !!!
She was incredible.
Pure magic.
I've been a fan of Jimmie for years. I was hooked after I first heard "I am the Mercury" and I have loved his beautiful music ever since. My all time favorite is "In The Misty Woods" . . . what a song! Of course, his rendition of this song (I'm So Lonesome) is just perfect. I was so sad when he died. Still am, I suppose. Perhaps we will see him in another time and place.
My daughter lost her dad Friday evening - we all live in different parts of the country. Trying to soothe her I sent her this song till we can be together. She cried and cried but that’s what Jackson’s music does - it releases our emotions. For many years since the death of one husband, now two, and my only son I have passed my time listening to Jackson Browne’s music. We are so blessed to witness his gift of music to humanity. Peace and love to all. ❤
So sorry....thanks for sharing your sentiment here...be well ❤
My favorite version of this song - thanks for sharing.
She was on my mom’s radio show almost every week and many live events in Mendocino. My fave was at an apple fair in Boonville, CA and i sat on stage waiting for her. I was thirteen or fourteen i think.. knew every word of all of her songs and asked for mom to always play her if possible. The family had or may still have a folk festival up at their place in Sebastapol, i think. Incredible..and Nina Gerber was such an incredible mandolin player.. but Kate supported so many cool causes up on that coast and really made a big difference to so many! _/\_
Thank you for that sweet memory!
Beautiful!!
One of her best....beautifully sung
👍💜
to the most underrated singer/song writer, evah.
You're deeply Loved and severly missed Kate.
Great version. This is a song on my “pick me up” playlist! 🤗
Always watch the sky ,it tells you which way the wind is blowing
Beautiful metaphor. Brilliant writing. Her voice, I turn people on to her and they always love it
Sooo beautiful.
My dad played this album. I think this song was felt in his bones.
